About the Rugged Sunset Artwork

There’s a small park in Washington State that overlooks the San Juan Islands. It has a tiny dock, small campground and a rocky beach. Even though the park is small, the views are larger than life offering vibrant sunsets and beautifully textured skies. Taking a short walk away from the beach, I found a large rock that had collected water in a pool on the top. It was the perfect nature-made set up that I needed to complete this photo’s composition.

Background of the Mountain Landscape Artwork

Driving up Mount Rainier can be an experience. Especially if the weather is bad or if you’re heading up the great mountain during the Spring (when the snow on the roads is still sticking around). The curvy roads were a little tough to handle but thankfully, there were a few straight sections. On my way back down the mountain, I pulled the car over and snapped this photograph. The endless road leading towards another mountain peak seemed to scream, “let’s go on a journey!”.
